Centennial Hero Pin – Cockatoo

Representing the 1950's, this pin was designed in honor of King Tut our Moluccan cockatoo. King Tut came to the Zoo in 1925, brought by adventurer and early Zoo director Frank Buck. King Tut was extraordinarily friendly and loved people, so in 1951, he took up his spot in front of the flamingo lagoon as the Zoo’s official greeter. Millions of people stopped to say hello to Tut during his long life at the Zoo.

Measures approx. 1.5" in diameter with a butterfly clutch back.
